My stay at the hotel was a mix of positives and negatives. The location was great, close to everything but also a bit smelly at times. The rooms were spacious but had some noise issues. The service was fantastic, especially from Heather who went above and beyond to assist us. The dining experience was ordinary, and the prices were a bit steep. Overall, a decent stay with room for improvement.

The hotel is nestled in a beautiful old cloister with special outside views, but the rooms were a bit basic and not as expected for this level of hotel. Despite some low ceiling spots, it didn't pose much of an issue during my stay.

Rooms
7.0
The rooms, although a bit tired, provided a cozy stay with unique surroundings in the old cloister.
Service
9.0
The staff was very helpful and friendly, making my time there quite pleasant.
Location
8.0
The location is excellent, particularly convenient for train travelers, despite having to cross a large dirt courtyard to reach the hotel.
Dining

The dining experience was very good with a nice selection, but some aspects needed improvement to match a 4-star standard.
Facilities
The hotel offered great amenities and services, although some areas needed tidying up to enhance the overall experience.

The rooms at the hotel were a good size but lacked sufficient storage, especially in the bathroom. Unfortunately, the spiral staircase access made it challenging for me as a solo traveler with a heavy suitcase. Despite the friendly staff, the cost of the rooms did not match the level of assistance provided.

Rooms
5.0
The room size was good but lacked storage, particularly in the bathroom.
Service
7.0
The staff was professional, helpful, and friendly, although not very responsive to our complaint. Overall, pleasant service experience.
Location
6.0
The location was a mixed experience; while it was perfect for exploring the city on foot and near the train station for convenience, there were delays in seating at the breakfast area outside. The historical monument view was a plus.
Dining
8.0
Dining was of a very good standard in the beautiful restaurant overlooking the internal courtyard, although overpriced. The Irish soda bread was a highlight.
Facilities
7.0
The rooftop swimming pool was nice but needs updating. Overall, adequate amenities and facilities.

The hotel had some positives like comfortable rooms with good air conditioning but also had drawbacks such as a missing bed and inefficient use of space. The service was a mix of dismissive behavior with responsive staff. The location was convenient but with disappointing cleanliness. The dining was varied in quality and pricing. Overall, there were hits and misses during my stay.

6.6/10

My stay at the hotel was overall pleasant. The room was a bit messy but acceptable, and the window provided natural light, though the lack of comfort with old lumpy pillows and no headboard was a downside. The balcony was dark, but the air conditioning worked better than in other places I've stayed, keeping me warm on a cold January night with plenty of hot water available.

Rooms
6.0
The room was decent, although the pillows were old and lumpy, and the lack of a headboard was noticeable. The air conditioning was effective, which was a plus on a chilly night. The room cleanliness could have been better.
Service
7.0
The staff didn't provide any warning, help, or explanation, which was disappointing. However, they did try to assist us in contacting SNCF to sort out our delayed trains. Staying in this historic building in Avignon added to the atmosphere and overall experience. They managed to resolve the issue when our booking wasn't confirmed by our travel agent.
Location
9.0
The hotel's location is excellent, just a few minutes' walk from the train station and close to the city center attractions. Being within the city walls added to the charm, making it easy to explore the important sights.
Dining
6.0
The dining experience was a bit chaotic and in need of cleaning up. The self-service setup was unappealing, but the food quality was decent. The buffet at the restaurant was good, and the scrambled eggs were possibly the best I've ever had.
Facilities
5.0
The hotel could improve in this aspect to enhance the guest experience.

8.8/10

Staying at the hotel was a delightful experience with superb location, easy access to a private car park within Avignon's city walls, and exceptionally helpful and friendly staff. The modern annexe lacked character but provided a comfortable stay despite some rooms being a bit run down, attributable to the challenges of converting old buildings into modern accommodations.

Rooms
8.0
The rooms in the modern annexe were comfortable, despite lacking character. Some showed signs of wear, understandable when renovating old buildings into modern spaces.
Service
9.0
The service was fantastic with well-mannered and hospitable staff who genuinely cared about our satisfaction, offering excellent restaurant recommendations. It felt like being treated in a medieval castle.
Location
9.0
The location was a pleasure to stay in, within Avignon's city walls, and near the main town and train station, offering convenient parking and close proximity to shops, restaurants, and historic sites.
Dining
9.0
The dining experience was fabulous, offering a wonderful European selection of fruits, meats, and pastries in a lovely setting either indoors or outdoors. The bountiful and delicious meals with courtyard views were a true highlight.
Facilities
9.0
The hotel had great dining facilities, perfect for enjoying delicious European meals. The setting added a special touch to the dining experience.
